I know this can be done, but my search phases just return a lot on how to use a midi device as a controller, which is not what I need.

Then I can leave the drum pad midi notes as is, with logic “decoding” each midi mode and rerouting/translating it to the proper drum sound based on which customized track is selected. I would prefer to take the time upfront to make a project template that has a track stack with 3 subtracks that are preprogrammed to “reroute” the midi notes coming from the drum pad. I can do this now, except every time I switch to a different “phase”, I have to go to the midi drum pad and re-assign each pad to the corresponding midi channel.
